Help Us Keep the Music Going

CMC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every membership, donation, and volunteer hour goes directly toward affordable practice space and programs for local musicians.

Volunteer with Us

Volunteers are the beating heart of our organization! Every show, every piece of gear, and every program is made possible by the time and energy of our members. No experience is necessary — just a willingness to help. Create a free account to get started.

At shows

Show-night jobs, start to finish. Usually one evening at a time.

  • Host — Welcome bands, introduce sets, keep things on schedule.
  • Tech — Operate the soundboard and run soundcheck.
  • Door — Handle entry, welcome the audience, keep an eye on the space.
  • Merch — Run CMC merch and concessions, coordinate band merch tables.
  • Photos or Video — Document the show with your own equipment.

Away from shows

Keeping the place running between events, mostly on your own schedule.

  • Street team — Put up posters around town.
  • Tabling — Staff a table at festivals and community events.
  • Work parties — Cleaning, organizing, and building projects.
  • Gear repair — Clean, maintain, and repair lending library equipment.
  • Audio engineering — Help members record, mix, or master.

Committees

Committees meet monthly to build and guide the organization.

  • Programming — Planning and booking CMC-produced events.
  • Production — Operating, staffing, and running CMC events.
  • Development — Fundraising, member and partner development, outreach.
  • Communications — Social media, posters, press, and the newsletter.
  • Art and merchandise — CMC merch and local artists for poster art.
  • Facility — Building management, gear library, rehearsal scheduling.

Become a Sustaining Member

The most direct way to support the space is a monthly contribution on a sliding scale — starting at $10/month. Sustaining members earn free practice hours every month, can lock in a recurring weekly practice slot, and get discounts on show tickets and gear. Your contribution keeps the doors open.
